Christmas 2020 Home Tour | Dining Room
It’s here! It’s here!
The moment we have all been waiting for…I will be sharing our Christmas 2020 décor with you all over the next few weeks and am SO excited!
So naturally we’re going to start in the dining room.
Now, I know, normally I make a STATEMENT in this room with my decor – but you know what? I had an idea of a really clean pink/gold look in my head and that is just what I rolled it. So YES it is more simply and laid back than my usual style, but I love it just as much and think the colours suit this room really well!
The Table Runner:
Starting with a base here I put down some white snow, which is just pillow stuffing I had on hand from FabicLand.
Next I put down a TON of ornaments – I picked up several boxes of gold and pink ornaments from HomeSense and lined them down the center on top of the snow.
And lastly, I strung several strands of fairy lights around and through the ornaments and snow as a nice soft glow at night time.
The Place Settings:
So here’s how I put together the place setting –
Step One: Charger plate. I picked up these beautiful gold charger plates at Dollar Tree – I know right!? Dollar Tree!
Step Two: Dinner and salad plate. This is my pink plate set from Ikea, and it’s definitely one of my favourite plate sets to use.
Step Three: Cutlery & Glassware.
Guess what? This gold cutlery is plastic. Yup! We don’t own a real set of gold cutlery because um they are super expensive! I picked up this gold cutlery set from Target – and it’s a nice enough plastic set that is looks real from a distance 😉
The wine glass is just the standard wine glass from Ikea, and I stuffed a small Christmas cracker inside (Christmas cracker from HomeSense).
Step Four: The finishing touch.
White linen napkins just folded in half and rolled up, no super fancy fold this time!
And I tied a small pink ornament around the napkin with white string.
The Side Console:
So for the side console I kept with the same colour scheme – pink and gold.
The 3 large trees in lined up along the table and from HomeSense – and I’m obsessed with them! So pretty.
Then I strung a pink and gold ball garland (from Michaels) across the top of the mirror (secured with push pins to the back).
Lastly, I used fishing line (so it’s clear) to hang some larger, more decorating pink/gold ornaments to add a bit of flare!
That’s it! That is the Christmas 2020 Dining Room tour!
I love the colour scheme going on in this room this year and I plan on keeping with the gold and pink theme in coming years as well.
What are some ideas I have for next year?
- Add a tree or two to this room (thinking pencil style, and flocked)
- Add some decoration to the light fixtures for more vertical decorations
I hope you love how this room turned out and it can give you some inspiration on how to set a table for your own family Christmas’!
